Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten a reliability and make the device at low cost, by providing a drive circuit for driving the fuel pump in accordance with an output signal of charge-discharge circuit, during the period of generating an ignition switch signal. CONSTITUTION:When stopped the engine due to a cause of accident or fault, that is, in the case when stopped the engine in a condition with the ignition switch turned on, the electric charge of a condenser C1 is discharged, and when the input to a drive circuit 7 becomes below a level of threshold, the drive circuit 7 comes to be off-state. This causes a fuel pump 5 to stop its operation. On the other hand, in the case with the engine in operation and the ignition switch turned off, the fuel pump 5 is stopped operation because a signal of the ignition switch is not applied to one end of the fuel pump 5.
