Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the sintering density of an iron-cobalt type sintered soft material and improve the magnetic properties thereof by adding a restricted amt. of boron to the material.
CONSTITUTION: Boron 0.1W0.4wt% is added to blended powder consisting of cobalt about 30W65wt% and the balance iron. After adding a lubricant the mixed powder is molded and sintered to manufacture a soft magnetic material. Since the restricted amt. of boron is contained, this material has raised sintering density and enhanced properties such as high magnetic flux density, low coercive force and high permeability which are desirable for a magnetic material.
