Abstract
PURPOSE: To repress engenderment of HC, CO as well as to prevent engenderment of quenching zone by providing an air port exclusively for air on the bulkhead surface of a cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of compression stroke, since it makws negative pressure in the crankcase, mixed air is inhaled through a carburetor 1 and an automatic valve 2 for mixed air into a crankcase 3. On the other hand, air inhaled through an automatic valve 5 for air through an air sump 6 via an air shuttle port 7 composed of part of the crankcase and a guide plate 14 forms an air stratum 8. When a piston goes down, air is spouted out through an air port, since an air port 10 is provided just above a mixed air port 13, air becomes a form which appears as it is put on the mixed air, so to speak, as if it might get on the stratum, in the meantime, expelling residual exhaust, an air stratum is formed on the inner bulkhead surface of the cylinder. In consequence, it eliminates quenching zone, HC, CO engenderment is also repressed.
