Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a superconductive wire from getting deformation through the reduction of electromechanical force in the axial direction by positioning intermediate flanges between both flanges of a spool to permit the wiring to be devided in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Between the pair of flanges 5, 6 at both ends of the spool 4, intermediate flanges 7 are further installed and combined with the spool 4. The so constructed spool 4 is used to be wound with three sets of superconductive windings 2 devided in the axial direction, each winding being wound in the spaces between the flanges 5 and 7, 7 and 7, as well as 7 and 6. The construction permits the accumulation of axially compressive electromechanical force to be stopped by the flanges 7 and prevents the winding 2 from outwardly emerging. Thus, an exciting current close to the critical value is allowed to pass through the winding 2, thereby providing an enhanced performance.
