Abstract
PURPOSE:To hold the overall length cores at plural points and contain the cores without congestion by using the spacers of the specified shape forming the containing grooves provided with a tension member through-hole at the central part and a plurality of core guide mounting parts on the outside circumference. CONSTITUTION:Tension members 4, 4' connected by a tension member connecting part 5 are passed through the central hole of two split spacers 10. Next, core guides 11... are fitted to the outside circumference of the spacers 10, optical fiber cores 2 are held by the guides 11..., the circumferential parts of the spacers 10 forming containing grooves 12... are selected according to the surplus length of the cores 2 connected by the connecting parts 3 and the surplus length parts of the cores 2 are wound spirally along the circumferential parts thereof, then the surplus length parts are held at plural points without congestion, and the surplus length parts are free from sharp bends and are orderly contained with good vibration resistance.
