Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure an easy, quick and accurate detection for the short circuit and the disconnection of the liquid crystal display element through decision of the quality of the display element by detecting the amount of the current flowing to the liquid crystal display element via the resistance connected to the liquid crystal driving circuit and then comparing the current amount with the reference value.
CONSTITUTION: The pulse delivered from square wave oscillator 19 is applied to driving circuit 20 to drive liquid crystal display element 18. Resistance 21 parallel to capacitor 22 is connected to circuit 20, and the both ends of resistance 21 feature the voltage difference proportional to the amount of the current flowing only to element 18. The voltage difference is applied to deciding unit 26 via differential amplifier 24 to be compared with the reference voltage set at decision reference setter 25. As a result, the short circuit and the disconnection of element 18 can be detected easily, quickly and accurately, and the quality of the display element can be displayed on display unit 27 using the lamp or the like.
