Abstract
PURPOSE:To construct an electrode material, mainly composed of metal sintered unit of high melting point, with the shank portion also firmly unifyable in the method of simple process, by improving a chamfering especially when starting a processing work as the electrode material for use of electrical discharge machining. CONSTITUTION:In the bottom center portion of a graphite vessel 15 is placed a tungsten skeleton 11, with a shank material 13 piled on the above through a jointing material 12, and in a clearance with the vessel 15 is filled a copper powder as an intruding resolvent material 14 by the quantity such as a quantity, made intruding into the skeleton, and a quantity, to dissolve the jointing material into as alloy constructing a joint layer, plus a slight amount of surplus quantity. Subsequently, with the vessel 15 placed into a continuous hydrogen furnace, the intruding resolvent material is fused to construct the joint layer. Then with a face, to be an electrode of sintered unit, made clean, a copper plate is piled up through a silver solder material and placed in the furnace, and a jointing is processed by the method of solder material melting. In such way, an electrode material, capable of firmly unifying also the shank part, can be constructed with a metal sintered unit of high melting point being the main component.
