Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the duration of spark, prevent misfire and raise the combustion efficiency, by connecting a capacitor in parallel with a spark plug to increase the quantity capacitive spark but decrease that of inductive spark. CONSTITUTION:The capacitor 7 is connected in parallel with the spark plug 9 and a secondary ignition coil 6. In a conventional case, the secondary voltage would sharply rise the instant the primary current is cut off. In the present case, the secondary voltage slowly rises because it charges the capacitor 7. After the spark is started by the spark plug 9, the capacitor 7 is discharged to greatly increase the quantity of capacitive spark.
