Abstract

PURPOSE: To coat aluminum to a sufficient film thickness evenly and well irrespective of the magnitude of polar ratios at good electrodeposition efficiency by dipping the Al having been formed with anodic oxidation film in an aqueous solution or emulsion bath of anion type electrodeposition coating resins and supplying AC with the specific metal as it is being used as a counter electrode.
CONSTITUTION: The Al having been formed with anodic oxidation film is dipped in an aqueous solution or emulsion bath of anion type electrodeposition coating resins such as acrylic resin, polyester resin, alkyd resin, etc. Any one of Al, Cu, Pb as it is without deposition of any grease and oxide films is used as the counter electrode for the treated object and AC is supplied. Then, the cation density near the counter electrode increases owing to the rectifying effect of the treated object and the deposition of the anion type resins does not occur. On the treated object side, the sulfuric acid radicals in the fine pores of the anodic oxidation films are removed at the charging of negative and the deposition of the anion type resins takes place at the positive charging.
