Abstract

PURPOSE: To inexpensively form the patterns of superior corrosion reistance having three-dimensional feel of gloss and two dark and pale colors by forming the patterns differing in the degrees of roughness on the surfaces of Al or Al alloy, subjecting the same to anodic oxidation film treatment in an electrolytic bath then coloring the same through electrolytic coloring or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Patterns are formed on the surfaces of Al or Al alloy with differences in the degrees of surface roughness by chemical, mechanical or other means, thence the surfaces are subjected to anodic oxidation film treatment in an electrolytic bath by an ordinary method and are further subjected to AC electrolysis in a metal salt bath by or dipped in dye or pigment baths by known coloring methods, whereby the films are colored. In this way, the lustrous ground of the regular fine pore structure is darkly colored and the portions of larger degrees of surfaces are lightly colored, whereby the patterns having three-dimensional feel of two dark and pale colors are simultaneously formed. According to this method, many man-hours are not required, unlike with conventional methods.
