Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable stable and exact starting of a brushless motor of type for detecting the position by speed electromotive force by detecting back electromotive force of the motor to thereby switch the synchronization of the motor.
CONSTITUTION: When a brushless motor is started, the input voltage of a voltage- controlled oscillator 10 is controlled to thereby gradually raise the drive frequency of an inverter 1 to thus accelerate the revolving speed of the motor 2. When the motor 2 reaches the speed that the position of the rotor may be detected by its back electromotive force, a signal is produced from a comparator 11 to shut off the gate signal from the inverter 1 at an inhibit circuit 15 to thereby stop the inverter 1. The induced voltage of the motor 2 is detected during the stopped period of the inverter 1 to synchronize it with the induced voltage of the motor 2 upon detection of the induced voltage to thereby restart the inverter. After the restarting of the inverter 1, the motor 2 is operated by the output of the position detector 3 of the type for detecting the back electromotive force.
