  • Control Of The Air-Fuel Ratio Of Carburetors (AREA)

Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable fuel air ratio of an engine to be compensated for in accordance with accelerating conditions thereof by constituting a carburettor therefor such that fuel for compensating for fuel air ratio of the engine is sucked into a suction bore in accordance with the duration for and the degree to which fuel air mixture is held lean during acceleration of the engine and at the same time fuel of the main fuel circuit is caused to be easily sucked out therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: If a throttle valve 6 is opened, for example, to a B position in order to accelerate an engine from its stationary state, suction negative pressure acting at a negative pressure extracting port 26A is decreased. This change of negative pressure is transmitted to chambers 16 and 17 of a negative pressure responsive valve I through conduits 26 and 28, respectively, whereupon negative pressure is decreased instantaneously in the chamber 17 while negative pressure is gradually decreased in the chamber 16 due to the existence of a throttle 27 so that a diaphragm 15 is moved leftwardly against the urging of a spring 19. As a result, a valve body 18 of the valve I is moved leftwardly to open an accelerating fuel supply passage 12. Meanwhile, negative pressure is allowed to act upon ports 11a, 11b. Accordingly, accelerating fuel is sucked into a suction bore 2 from a float chamber 13 through the passages 12, 8 and then through the ports 11a, 11b and an idle port 9.
