Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the steel strip coated with the zinc film on one side, by overlapping the thin zinc foil on the steel strip provided with a roughness on the surface previously, and by pressure welding two metals at temperatures for putting the zinc foil in a semifused state within the reducing pressure welding apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The zinc foil of thickness 0.01-0.5mm and the steel strip provided with a roughness 0.5-5mum on the surface previously are respectively supplied from uncoilers 1, 1'. Two materials are passed through the degreasing 5, the pickling 6, the water washing 7 and the water dripping and drying 8, and then, are introduced into the reducing pressure welding apparatus 26. The inside of the pressure welding apparatus 26 is kept at the reducing atmosphere including hydrogen with the concentration 7-75%; the strip is heated by the high frequency induction heater 10, and the zinc foil is put into a semifused state at about 380-415 deg.C in the heat insulator 24. Two materials are pressure welded by the pressure welding roll 11; hereby, the face of the zinc foil contacting with the strip becomes a semifused state owing to the descent in melting point of zinc due to the pressure, and two materials are perfectly pressure welded resulting in the strip coated with the zinc film of uniform thickness on one side as the product. If necessary, thus obtained zinc coated strip is passed through the alloying treatment furnace 27 in order to alloy the steel with zinc and to improve the adhesiveness.
