Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture titled thin diameter electric welded steel pipe being coated with uniformly molten and spread coating material, by continuously feeding the low melting point coating material to the rough surface formed on the side of the steel strip to be the inner surface of the pipe, by forming this steel strip into the seam pipe, and by heating this seam pipe in the nonoxidizing atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: The rough surface is formed RO on the side of the thin steel strip 1, to be the inner surface of the pipe, and the steel strip 1 is sent to the process I, in which the open seam pipe 2 is formed so as to internally hold the linear type low melting point coating material (m) like as tin, etc. This pipe 2 is sent to the process II, where both side edges 1a, 1a, are pressure welded (w) by the electrode roll ER and the pressure welding roll R2, and the seam pipe 3 is formed, which is then sent to the process III. The pipe 3 is passed the heater holding the nonoxidizing atmosphere and is heated to the melting point of the coating material (m) so as to fluidize the coating material (m); hereby, the entire inner surface of the pipe 3 is coated (p), and the seam pipe 4, that is the aim thin diameter electric welded steel pipe, is manufactured.
