Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible supplying of treated water of high purity by separating and regenerating the mixed ion exchange resins of the cation exchange resins and anion exchange resins used for desalination treatment only to the anion and cation exchange resins respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The resins K, 3' are regenerated by transferring the anion exchange resins 5 floating from the anion exchange resin discharge pipe 10 of another tower 6 to other tower, e.g., an ion exchange resin storage tank, then washing the cation exchange resins 3 in other tower 6 with water, feeding an acid regenerating agent 11 to a separating tower 1 to regenerate the cation exchange resins 3, transferring the regeneration waste liquid 12 into an auxiliary tower 14 to wash the resins K, 3' sedimenting from the cation exchange resin discharge pipe 13 of another tower 6 with water thence feeding the acid regenerating agent 11 to the separating tower 1 to regenerate the cation exchange resins 3 and feeding the regeneration waste 12 to the auxiliary tower 14.
