Abstract
PURPOSE: To cut down on the costs of chemicals and waste water treatment without impairing the regenerating capability by reusing part of waste water for regeneration in the early period of the subsequent regeneration when the regeneration of purified water manufacturing apparatus is made.
CONSTITUTION: The hydrochloric acid 11 for regeneration is passed through the cation exchange resion tower 2 for a certain time, and when the concentration of Ca2+ and Mg2+ in waste water falls down rapidly, the waste water is stored in the recovery tank 15 by the timer 13 and then reused for the regeneration of the exchange tower 2 through the piping 16 in the early period of subsequent regenerating operation. In the same way, in the anion exchange tower 3, the waste water, when the concentration of Cl- and So-2 4 in NaOH solution for regeneration drops abruptly, is stored in the recovery tank 15' by the timer 13' and then reused in the early period of subsequent regenerating operation. Thus, chemicals for regeneration can be greatly reduced and the amount of waste water can be decreased without impairing the regenerating capability, so that neutralizing agent for waste water can also be reduced and waste water treatment cost can be curtailed.
