Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the reproduced sound equivalent to that obtained through two woofers to perform the correction for the dynamic range of low band by winding two voice coils round the coil bobbin to cut off the frequencies higher than the fixed level and adding the crossover circuit network. CONSTITUTION:Voice coil 10, supplied directly with the output of the amplifier, is used as a full-band type coil; while voice coil 11 is connected in parallel to coil 10 via LPF19 to be used as a low-band woofer. LPF19 consists of inductance 21 of 9.5mH, for example, and capacitor 20 to cut off the signals featuring the frequencies of over 200Hz. Crossover circuit network 22 comprises industance of 0.32mH and capacitor of 4.7muF with the crossover frequency set to 4000Hz. As a result, the reproduced sound equivalent to that obtained through the speaker unit using two woofers, thus compensation the dynamic range of the low band.
