Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to obtain the broader widening range of sound image than stereo signal regardless of use of monaural signal, by reproducing the signal reproduced from one speaker with the amplitude and phase different from other speaker. CONSTITUTION:The monaural signal fed to the input terminal is split into high and low band component with the high pass filter 1 and low pass filter 2, and they are fed to the speakers 4A, 4B from the amplifiers 3A, 3B and reproduced. Simultaneously, the signal from the high pass filter 1 is fed to the amplifier 3B as the signal at a given low level and inverted phase through the attenuator 6A and phase shifter 7A, and reproduced from the speaker 4B. Similarly, the signal from the low pass filter 2 is fed to the amplifier 3A through the attenuator 6A and phase shifter 7B and reproduced from the speaker 4A to produce the broader widening range 5 of sound image.
