Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate an invariably-constant voltage by detecting threshold voltages of P-type and N-type FETs of a complementary semiconductor integrated circuit and by outputting a voltage corresponding to the reference voltage obtained by adding together both the threshold voltages.
CONSTITUTION: The drain and source of N-type FETQn1 are connected and constant current supply I is connected to the drain to allow the FET to operate invariably in a saturation region, thereby making the drain voltage invariably constant. In addition, the gate of N-type FETQn2 is connected to the gate of FETQn1 to make the gate voltage of FETQn2 constant, the drain-source voltage is set higher than a voltage obtained by subtracting the threshold voltage of FETQn2, and FETQn2 is made to operate in a saturation region, thereby making the drain current constant. Then, a current equal to the drain current of FETQn2 is flowed through P-type FETQp1 and FETQn3 and the sum of threshold voltages of those FETs Qp1 and Qn3 is applied as the reference voltage to the gate of N-type FETn4 to make the voltage of output terminal OUT constant.
