Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the scorching performance of a high-frequency heater having a secondary heater which slightly scorches food while the food is heated by electric wave and to make the construction of the high-frequency heater safe and simple.
CONSTITUTION: A punched metal sheet, wire net or the like, which passes heat and infrared ray but intercepts electric wave, is provided in a main heating chamber 11 so that an accessory heating chamber 14 is defined. A heater fixing metal member 15 is provided in the accessory heating chamber 14. Heater supports 16, 17 made of a heat-resisting insulator are attached to both the ends of the fixing metal member 15. A pipe 18 is fixed and supported by the member 15 and the supports 16, 17. An electric heating wire 19 is provided in the pipe 18 and connected to a lead wire 20 extending out of the heating chamber. The assembly comprising the fixing metal member, the pipe, the heating wire and supports is fitted in the accessory heating chamber 14 by screws 21. Thus, the food 22 can be slightly scorched by the electric heating wire 19 while the food is heated by the electric wave generated by a magnetron 12. This improves the scorching performance and simplifies the construction.
