Abstract

PURPOSE: To smooth weld zones, eliminate the need for post-grinding and post- finishing and improve the reproducibility of welding quality by reciprocatively welding the front side of a square groove by giving the specific welding torch angle then fusion welding without filler metal on the back side.
CONSTITUTION: A wire which also serves as an electrode of a MIG welding torch 5 is set at an angle of inclination of 60° to 80° to the surface of the base metal 1 to be welded in the direction intersecting at a right angle to the direction where a square groove extends and reciprocative welding is performed.
