PURPOSE:To strengthen the stirring force of steel bath and to shorten the blowing time and also, to improve the yield of iron by blowing a part of the whole supply amount of oxygen under the surface of the bath at the oxygen top blowing steel manufacturing. CONSTITUTION:Singular or plural nozzles are provided at the furnace bottom or on the side wall of converter and a part of the whole supply amount of oxygen is blown on occasion of using usual oxygen top blowing converter. For example, double tube nozzle is used for the nozzle and it is preferable to blow in oxygen together with gas having a large amount of heat absorption by the decomposition of each gas of methane, butane, natural gas etc. Oxygen blowing under the bath face is carried out in a period of oxygen top-blowing or a fix period after the end of oxygen top-blowing. Blowing amount of oxygen under the bath face is suitably controlled according to the progress of refining reaction during this period.
