Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a high speed recording with a high efficiency by applying the lubricant on the surface, opposite to the surface coated with the ink material, of the base film before recording with the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The heat transfer recorder comprises a platen roller 11, a thermal head 18, drive rollers 15 and 16 and the like. The thermal head 18 is pressed opposite to the coated surface of the base film with the ink material and heated whereby the ink 14 is transferred onto the recording paper 12 to record. In the apparatus of this type, a means 17 of applying lubricant is provided on the surface opposite to the coated surface of the base film 13 in such a manner as to be liquid at the normal temperature or to be fluidized by heating with the thermal head 18 before recording with the thermal head 18. This can prevent the stick phenomenon in which the feed of paper is blocked by melting and sticking of the basefilm on the thermal head 18.
