Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject device wherein control of thermal energy in accordance with the paper quality is not necessitated by confronting a solid ink with a transfer belt, supplying thermal energy in correspondence to signal information to tranfer the ink to the transfer belt and transferring it on a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 11 and a transfer belt 12 are clamped between heat rollers 13 and 14. A thermal head 16 is arranged on a position confronting an ink roller 15 applied at its periphery with a solid ink liquefied when heat is applied thereto through the transfer belt 12, that is, on a line in the rectangular direction on the paper surface in the drawing. When the exothermic element of the thermal head 16 is selectively heated, the solid ink on the ink roller 15 is molten through the transfer roller 12 to transfer the ink on the transfer belt 12. The picture transferred to the transfer belt 12 is subjected to natural cooling, solidified and moved to a transfer part T of the recording paper. When the transfer belt 12 reachs a position where both heat rollers 13 and 14 are confronted, the picture produced on the transfer belt is retransferred on the recording paper. Thereafter, the transfer belt 12 is cleaned by a cleaner 18.
