Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide vulcanization-accelerating compsn. for rubber in which moisture absorption proofness and dispersibility are improved and the scattering property of powdered 2-mercapto-imidazoline is eliminated, by a method wherein naphthenic oil and powdered calcium carbonate are used together with powdered 2-mercaptoimidazoline.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided compsn. consisting of (A) 45W84.5wt% of powdered 2-mercapto-imicazoline, (B) 15W80wt% of naphthenic oil having aniline point (JISK-2256) of 50W90°C and (C) 0.5W80wt% of powdered calcium carbonate. Even though a large amount of (B) component is used, deleterious change in the processability of rubber does not occur, bleeding does not occur, and (B) component does not have an adverse effect on the vulcanizing rate of rubber and the stability of vulcanized material. The use of (C) component is effective in the enhancement of the dispersibility of the compsn. The dispersibility of the compsn. into the rubber to be vulcanized is remarkably enhanced.
