Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to find the cause for a fault to reduce the service cost, by detecting the error in instruction execution by a system control unit. CONSTITUTION:System control unit SCU controls module control unit MCU-1, CCU, buffer memories RWB and DCR; and when receiving error response in instruction execution, SCU analyzes the error state and interrupts the system operation after a corresponding error processing. Meanwhile, MCU-1 and CCU detect the error of SCU on the basis of instruction sequence, undefined instructions, etc., from SCU and report the error to SCU with a form of response. SCU performs error detection for return of job response within a prescribed time, completion of preparation for instruction acceptance, etc., and executes corresponding error processings to interrupt the system operation.
