Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible continuous supplying of molten alloy to the mold by using the tundish which is provided with a molten metal rabbing electromagnetic induction coil to the side face or bottom face and an alloying element feeder to the top part. CONSTITUTION:A linear alloying element 7 which has been straightened by straightening rolls 9 is supplied continuously into a tundish 1 by way of a pair of pinch rolls 10, 10' whose speeds are regulated by a variable speed reducer 12. When molten metal is introduced through a pouring cup 2 while being preheated by blowing fuel through burner orifices 20, 20', the alloying element melts in a well part 3 and is rapidly mixed by the multiphase induction rabbling action of low-frequency coils 6, 6' whereby the even molten metal alloy is formed. The resultant molten metal is removed of slag in a dam block 24 and while its flow rate is being controlled by a stopper 5, it is continously fed into the mold 19 through a nozzle 4.
