Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduced the oxidized film thickness on a surface of a steel strip to below 1000Angstrom by a method wherein, in case of continuously annealing a cold rolling steel strip in a direct fire heating type deoxidizing furnace, the CO content contained in a furnace atmosphere is continuously analyzed and the air amount for combusting a fuel is controlled by the output thereof to control the generation of free oxygen within an atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolling steel strip S is introduced into a direct fire heating type deoxidizing furnace 1 and heat annealed by plural burners. In this case, the CO contained within a furnace atmosphere is analyzed by an analyzer 7 and the electric voltage Ea corresponding to a CO amount is generated. On the other hand, a standard electric voltage Es comprising an electric source 10 and a resistance 9 is set to the output side of an analyzer 7 and, in case of Ea<Es, a CO content is below 0.01% to an objective value and free O2 is present in an atmosphere. In this time, a motor 6-1 of an opening degree adjusting apparatus 6 for an electromotive valve 5 in an air arranged pipe 3 is driven by the voltage Ei generated in an amplifier 8 to reduce the valve opening degree and a CO content in a furnace atmosphere is increased to 0.01-1.0% as well as free O2 content is controlled to reduce the oxidized film thickness formed on a surface of a steel strip S to below 1000Angstrom .
