Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain the shortening of an annealing installation, the energy saving and the enhancement of productivity by a mechanism wherein, in case of continuously annealing a steel plate, a fuel soot is preliminarily adhered to a steel plate surface and, thereafter, the said steel plate is rapidly heated by an ordinary burner. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolling steel strip 1 is introduced into a continuous annealing furnace and passed between a slit tipe burner 4 for blackening treatment in a heating zone 2. In a burner 4, a gas or a liquid fuel such as a coke oven gas, LPG, LNG, a light oil, a lamp oil or the like is combusted in a low air ratio and the generated soot is uniformly adhered to both surfaces of a steel plate. Subsequently, the said steel plate is rapidly heated by a burner 5 which is under a combusting condition of an air ratio in an ordinary non-oxidizing furnace and annealed. In this case, the said steel plate is heated in good heating efficiency by the black soot on a steel plate surface and the soot is finally combusted by a burner 5 to be disappeared. A blackening treatment installation of a steel plate surface is not required and the heat energy is low compared to a box annealing as well as the productivity is significantly high.
