Abstract

PURPOSE:To make light the electric load and to enable high speed driving, by providing a plurality of specific thin conductors on the magnetic poles formed with thin film technology. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic pole 5 such as Ni-Fe is formed on the substrate 6, 2 mum in thickness, for example. The insulation layer 7 such as SiO2 1 mum thick is provided on the magnetic pole 5, and a plurality of conductors 8, 2 to 3 mum thick are placed on it so that they are not interlinked with the magnetic pole 5. Since the end close to the magnetic layer of the magnetic pole 5 has the shape in which the conductors 8 are fallen down while closing each other, the magnetic field generated from the conductors 8 is concentrated on the tip of the magnetic pole 5, and accordingly, comparatively small drive current allows steep and strong magnetic field to be fed to the recording media from the tip of the magnetic pole 5. The distance l between the lower end of the conductors 8 and the end surface of the magnetic pole 5 can favorably be within 100 mum. Thus, the head in light weight can be obtained with a simple process to enable high density recording.
