Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate production and enhance the strength of the head, by burying a pair of conductors in the coil substrate and by forming a thin film coil to be connected to these conductors and by using this pair of conductors as I/O terminals. CONSTITUTION:Coil substrate part 27 is formed by melt-sticking with glass of a pair of blocks for coil substrate. At this time, conductor bars 21 divided by insulating materials are buried into grooves, which are provided on the junction faces of a pair of blocks for coil substrate, by melt-sticking with glass. Magnetic induction coils 29 are connected to respective conductor bars 21 and are formed by the thin film technique. Coil substrate part 27 where thin film magnetic induction coils 29 are formed is divided along the glass melt-stuck face, namely, line 31 to form coil substrates 27a and 27b. Main magnetic pole substrate 33 is caused to adhere to coil substrates 27a and 27b to form a magnetic recording thin film head. In the figure, the main magnetic pole substrate is indicated by 33. Thus, the production process is facilitated, and the head itself is strengthened.
