Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to obtain the reproducing signal of large output even to high frequency signals, by giving sufficiently strong write-in magnetic field even if the electric load is light, through the provision of specific write-in and reproducing conductor with distinction. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of write-in thin film conductors 12 are placed on the substrate 11 so that they are not interlinked with the thin film magnetic poles 6-1 and 6-2. The magnetic poles 6-1 and 6-2 are placed around the thin film conductor 8 via the insulation layers 10-1 and 10-2 on them, to constitute the reproducing head 9 having fine gap 7. Accordingly, the head 9 operates similarly as the reproducing operation in conventional horizontal magnetization systems and comparatively greater signals can be obtained. In case of recording operation, the magnetic poles 6-1 and 6-2 are operated corresponding to a single magnetic pole, and when signal current flows to the conductor 12, steep and strong magnetic field of vertical direction from the tips of the magnetic poles 6-1 and 6-2 is generated, to vertically magnetize the recording media.
