Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the treatment of jammed paper to be readily accomplished by detaching or contacting the cleaning member from or to an image carrying body cooperatively with the opening and closing operations of the door of an image-forming apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning blade 24 comprises forming an edge to an elastic plate, is mounted to a holding member 29 and is fixed to a revolving shaft 30; this revolving shaft 30 being supported turnably to the side plates of the body by means of a pair of rotating rings 30a, 30b. The another end 30c of the turning shaft 30 extends to the side of the body and is secured with the root end of a release lever 31 means of a set pin 32. A cleaning roller 23 is formed by sponge-form material and is supported rotatably by a roller holding member 36. When transfer paper causes jam and becomes jammed paper, the cleaning roller 23 may be retreated from the photosensitive drum 1 and therefore the taking-out of the jammed paper may be accomplished extremely readily.
