Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the influx of undesired air current into a heat-fixing device by providing a blast changeover means for preventing blowing of part of the air current to the peeling portions of recording paper to a duct for performing peeling by blowing the air current between the recording paper and an electrostatic latent image holding member.
CONSTITUTION: A lower plate opening 39 which is openable and closable by rotation of a blast direction control plate 40 is provided to the blast duct lower plate 34 above a heat-fixing device 18. The control plate 40 is supported pivotally by a revolving shaft 41 and is operated by a rotary solenoid. A shield plate 44 is provided between the lower plate 34 and the heat-fixing device 18 to prevent the air current blown out from the lower plate opening 39 from going to the inside of the heat-fixing device 18. A recording paper detecting sensor 45 consisting of an LED and photo transistor is disposed ahead a transfer roller 15 in the conveying direction of the recording paper 12. The lower plate opening 39 is held closed by the control plate 40 until the recording paper 12 reaches the sensor 15 but when the sensor 45 detects the leading end of the recording paper having been peeled, the solenoid operates to turn the control plate 40, which in turn opens the lower plate opening 39, thus directing the air current in the duct 31 in the arrow F direction.
