Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively cool the high-temperature part of a core, by providing duct pieces which are hollow in the axial direction of the core, have ventillation ports in local portions and can serve to supply a axial cooling wind to the center of the core. CONSTITUTION:Radial ventilation ducts 2a are defined by duct pieces 2 between core blocks 1, 1. Axial cooling ventilation ducts 3 are provided near the bottoms of core slots 5. A hollow duct piece 7 having a ventilation port 6 in a part is provided between the core blocks 1, 1 so that the hollow duct piece 7 surround the axial cooling ventilation duct 3 at the radial duct 2a. The cross-sectional area of the ventilation port 6 of the hollow duct piece 7 near the center of a core is made larger than that of the radial ventilation duct near the end of the core. As a result, a large quantity of cooling wind can be supplied to the central core part whose temperature is likely to become high. Therefore, the central core part can be effectively cooled.
