Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformly cool effectively electric windings by improving the cooling fluid flow in horizontal cooling passages among respective winding units and restricting the local temperature increase of the windings.
CONSTITUTION: Controllers 15 for reducing the peripheral width of vertical cooling passages and being thinner than horizontal duct pieces are disposed at every twice the pitches of the pieces at the position corresponding to the end of the pieces 13 within at least one of the inside and outside vertical cooling passages 6, 7. Thus, it can effectively uniformly cool the respective horizontal cooling passages 5 formed by the cooling fluid flowing through the inside and outside cooling passages 6, 7 and flow controllers 15 in the winding units 1 disposed between the inside and the outside insulating columns 3 and 4.
