Abstract

PURPOSE:To radiate an even ultrasonic wave from the broad irradiation surface of a diaphragm by concentrically connecting many piezoelectric transformers to the circumference of one piezoelectric transformer, coupled with the center part of the surface of a diaphragm piece, at intervals of one-fourth wave-length of transverse vibration. CONSTITUTION:When piezoelectric converters 12a-12c coupled with circular disphragm 11 in a fixed pattern are drived in phase at a time at the same frequency, parts 11a, 11b and 11c of the diaphragm coupling center, intermediate and external piezoelectric converter groups 12a, 12b and 12c are amplitude-displaced as shown by small curves (b), (c) and (d) and longitudinal vibration of amplitude displacement like curve (e) on the whole can be obtained. Then, the impedance of external circumference piezoelectric converter group 12c is minimized and that of center piezoelectric converter 12a is maximized or center piezoelectric converter 12a is connected out of phase, so that the diaphragm can longitudinally be vibrated with a uniform amplitude value over its entire surface.
