Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to oscillate surface acoustic waves only unidirectionally, by using the speed change of surface acoustic waves by DC magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:The reed screen electrodes 2A, 2B are formed on the magnetic substance board 1, and the piezoelectric film 3 is formed on it. Further, to the desired propagation direction P on the board 1, DC magnetic field H is fed with a slope. With this constitution, taking the frequency propagating on the board 1 as f, wave length as lambda, and velocity as V, V=flambda is established. Since DC magnetic field H is fed, the velocity of surface acoustic waves toward desired propagation P is changed to V1, and the velocity of propagation direction Q is changed to V2 respectively and V1not equal to V2 is obtained. Thus, the frequency toward P is f1=v1/lambda, and the frequency of propagation direction Q is as f2=V2/lambda, and consequently, excitation is made with the resonant frequency f1 of desired propagation direction P, then surface acoustic waves are toward P to increase the energy conversion efficiency between electric and acoustic waves.
