Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate any excessive supply of feed water and minimize the start-up loss and waste of water by start-up a gas turbine without feeding water to the boiler at a temporary lowering of its water level caused by the start-up of an exhaust gas boiler.
CONSTITUTION: A combined-cycle plant generates power by driving a generator 2 by a gas turbine 1 and leading the exhauste gas of the turbine 1 to an exhaust gas boiler 5 to generate steam, and driving a steam turbine 17 and generator 18 with this steam. In this kind of plants, to start-up the plants daily or after shut-down, the gas turbine 1 is first operated without raising the low water-level in a drum 12 until the pressure in the drum 12 increases while keeping the load of the gas turbine at a normal value (40%, for example) for a while. When the pressure goes up, for instance, to 45atg, a water feed pump 31 is started and the load of the gas turbine 1 is allowed to rise.
