Abstract
PURPOSE: To optimize the operation of a sludge scraping-up machine, and to conserve energy, by a method wherein the quantity of precipitation is computed by the quantity of water flowing into a sedimentation basin and the quality of water and the sludge discharging facilities of the sedimentation basin are controlled by the quantity of precipitation.
CONSTITUTION: The quantity of water flowing into a sedimentation basin 1 is detected by means of a flow meter 7 and the quality of water by means of a water analyzer 8. The efficiency of sedimentation is operated 9 from the value of the quality of water, the quantity of precipitation is operated 10 from the efficiency of sedimentation and the quantity of water, and the quantity of precipitation every each sedimentation basin is operated 11 when there are a large number of sedimentation basins 1. When the quantity of precipitation reaches regular value or more, operating signals are emitted to a sludge scraping-up machine 5 and a sludge discharging valve 6 from a computing element 12. Thus, the control of the operation of the sludge scraping-up machine is optimized while wasteful continuous operation is removed, and energy is conserved.
