Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a method of and apparatus for evaporating low-temperature liquefied gas, which is capable of evaporating liquefied gas efficiently by bringing the same into contact with the inner wall surface of liquefied-gas evaporating section effectively by the function of centrifugal force produced by helical plate member that is fixed to the inner surface of pipe. CONSTITUTION:As low-temperature liquefied gas is introduced from supply pipe 7 into pipes 5 which are respectively provided with airheating type fins 3 whose outer surfaces are held in contact with air, it flows upward in pipes 5. In doing so, liquefied gas not yet evaporated is thrown onto the inner wall surface of pipes 5 by the function of centrifugal force produced by helical plate member 11 in respective pipes 5, so that gas film is broken and evaporation of liquefied gas is promoted. Further, when a mixture of liquefied gas and evaporated gas is passed through finned pipes 5 of evaporating section 1, heavy liquefied gas acted by the centrifugal force of helical plate member 11 comes into abutment with the inner surface of pipes 5, so that it is evaporated efficiently. Thus, liquefied gas absorbs external heat efficiently through contact with the inner surface of pipes 5, so that it is removed of liquid mist and evaporated almost completlely by the time when it reaches the upper end of ipipes 5.
