Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently regenerate and utilize foul water proudced in a skyscraper, by providing a long tubular aeration unit in the skyscraper over its height and aerating the foul water.
CONSTITUTION: An aeration pipe 3 is provided in the skyscraper 1 over its height. Oxygen gas or air etc. is blown into the aeration pipe 3 at its halfway height through a gas pipe 10'. The lower end of the aeration pipe 3 is located in an aeration liquid vessel 11. Therefore, the foul water transferred into the top of the aeration pipe 3 through an air lift pipe 8 is interrupted by rising bubbles while the water flows down in the pipe 3. At a result, the flowdown speed of the water is reduced and the time of contact between the liquid and the gas is lengthened, thereby obtaining a very high aeration efficiency. The liquid thoroughly aerated in the vessel 11 is removed of solids in a settling pond 4. The supernatant water undergoes a higher treatment and is then pumped up into a treated water vessel 6 to be re-utilized for lavatory etc.
