Abstract

PURPOSE:An ignition system to be contrived for stabilization of ignition capacity without dropping ignition performance from low speed to high speed in such a way that electric conduction time of an ignition coil is controlled by applied voltage to stabilize ignition energy. CONSTITUTION:This ignition system comprises an angle detector 1 which is fixed onto a distributor axle for a 4-cylinder engine producing reference signals having constant angular width for 4 pieces per rotation and 720 pieces of angular signals per rotation, a pressure detector 2 to detect air intake negative pressure, and an ignition control arithmetic unit 4 connected to a battery 3. This arithmetic unit 4 is constituted by a first detecting circuit 4 to detect engine speed, a second detecting circuit 42 to detect air intake negative pressure, a third detecting circuit 43 to detect applied voltage, an ignition timing decision circuit 44, an ignition conduction timing decision circuit 45, and a primary coil control circuit 46, to control an ignition circuit 5 composed of an ignition coil, a distributor and an ignition plug in commensuration with its output signals.
