Abstract

PURPOSE:To prohibit uneven developing and image density decrease owing to the presence of uncharged toner at the developing by performing charging of the toner over the entire toner layer on a toner feed roller or developing roller. CONSTITUTION:An insulation type intermediate member 13 and a charging member 12 composed of two conductive electrodes provided integrally in a sate of holding this in-between are installed to a developing vessel 8, on the right of a sleeve 9, and potential differences are provided between both electrodes 14, 15. The toner of the portion close to the sleeve 9 is held closely contacted in both its direction and the perpendicalar direction, hence the current flowing from the electrode 14 to the electrode 15 through the toner flows once up to the surface of the sleeve 9 and flows toward the electrode 15 like a solid line arrow (b). Since this causes the entire toner layer between the electrodes 14, 15 to be charged, uneven developing and image density decrease may be prohibited.
