Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate use of a domestic hot water system, by gradually heating water in a hot water storage tank from the upper portion down to the lower portion through control of a switching valve by means of solar energy collected by a solar collector.
CONSTITUTION: Since the temperature inside a hot water storage tank 1 is low in the beginning and a thermostat 9 is still below a preset level, a main feed pipe 7 is communicated with No.1 feed pipe 4. When it becomes ready to utilize solar energy, a circulation pump 8 is automatically put into operation to circulate the upper half of water in the tank 1 through No.1 feed pipe 4, electric 3-way valve 6, circulation pump 8, main feed pipe 7, solar collector 10 and main return pipe 11. The repetition of this cycle makes the water temperature rise. When the thermostat 9 reaches the preset temperature level, the 3-way valve 6 is actuated to communicate No.2 feed pipe 5 with the main feed pipe 7. Afterwards, the circulation makes the water temperature rise evenly in the tank 1
