Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a ceramic composition which can be sintered at low temperature and will have a small dielectric loss and an excellent insulation resistance by admixing a specified amount of MnO to a Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3- Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3 based composition of which the component ratio is within a specified range.
CONSTITUTION: To 100 parts of an oxide composition which is within the region ABCDEF in the figure and consists of 64.42W68.58 wt% of PbO, 0.61W14.21 wt% of Fe2O3, 5.75W26.89 wt% of Nb2O5, 0W3.92 wt% of MgO, and 0W15.62 wt% of WO3, there is added 0.001W1.0 wt% of MnO. The oxide mixture thus obtained is calcined at 700W850°C for two hours for effecting solid-phase reaction, reground, added with a caking agent, pressure formed, and subjected to a main sintering at 850W950°C for two hours to yeild a ceramic body.
