Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep the high reliability for a long time as well as to realize the frequency run-on for the tuning fork type crystal oscillator by providing the projection part which is formed by etching on the side surface along the longer-side direction of the oscillator and in the same direction as the vibration direction on both the right and left side surfaces of the oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Projection part 2 is formed by etching on the side surface along the longer-side direction of oscillator 1 and in the same direction as the vibration direction, and this projection is provided also on both the right and left side surfaces of oscillator 1. As a result, the faces to which the electric components have contact are increased, and thus the conduction is more assured for both electrodes on both surfaces to secure a big effect as the exciting side-surface electrode by applying evaporation or sputtering from both surfaces. At the same time, the frequency run- on becomes possible to some extent by controlling size d of projection part 2.
