Abstract

PURPOSE: To high accurately manufacture at low cost the deformed product possessing open ends of the same shape, by subjecting the cylindrical blank to the groove forming work, the ironing work with a specified % or less reduction ratio, and the longitudinal compression work with a specified % or less reduction ratio at the same time.

CONSTITUTION: The blank 1 is placed on the pad 8; and the upper base 7, the punch 5, the stripper 9, and the stripper pin 11, all being attached to the upper ram of the press machine, are simultaneously brought down from upside of the blank 1; hereby, the punch 5 is at first pushed into the blank 1. The part of the blank 1, dangling around the punch 5, is subjected to the forming work by the die 4 and to the ironing work, at the same time. Hereupon, the forming work for the groove 3 and the ironing work are performed under the limitation of reduction ratio of sheet thickness to be 50% or less. Hereby, the deformed product 2 receives the longitudinal compression between the stripper 9 and the pad 8 since just prior to the end point of the forming work; hereupon, the rate of longitudinal compression is limited to 20% or less. Accordingly, the shape of the groove gives the minimum amount of spring back, and the high accurate deformed product is obtained.
