Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a work being held by a chuck to be processed into a non- circular product by high speed double cutting by conducting movable control of a main shaft rotated by a main cam and an auxiliary cam contacting a fixed cam follower.
CONSTITUTION: A main cam 50 which is formed in such a manner that a center locus of a fixed cam follower 40 and a non-circular work are to have a curve of the equal distance and auxiliary cams 51 and 52 which are formed in such a manner as to have a cente locus of right-top and right-bottom fixed cam followers 45 on a circular arc centering on a circular arc or curvature radius center of the non-circular work are provided on a main shaft 36 coaxially with a chuck 57. By a contact between the cam followers 40 and 45 and also by driving of a driving shaft 31 through a coupling 35, the main shaft 36 in rotation is shifted to and controlled at a position corresponding to the main shaft's rotating angle on a surface perpendicular to the axial line, and the work which is held by the chuck is made to conduct prescribed movements on the surface perpendicular to the shaft while being rotated so that the work is processed by a bite into a product of prescribed non-circular shape.
