Abstract

PURPOSE: To guide an advancing metallic pipe smoothly for increasing the working speed of outer and inner surfaces of said pipe and to improve the productivity, by arranging plural rolling rolls and guide rolls at the outside of the pipe corresponding to a plug inserted into the inside of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A plug 5 is inserted into the inside of a metallic pipe 2 and the pipe 2 is inserted into the center of three rolling rolls 3 of a rolling-roll supporting body 1. Each roll 3 is revolved centering around the pipe 2, and is strongly pressed against the outer surface of the pipe 2 to be rotated on their own axes by rotating said supporting body 1. Then the pipe 2 is advanced, and the outer surface of it is pressed by the rolls 3, and the inner surface is press-contacted with the plug 5, by the axial direction component of frictional force being created between the pipe 2 and rolls 3 because each roll 3 is inclined at a prescribed angle to the axial line of the pipe 2. Thus the outer and inner surfaces of the pipe 2 are worked, and the pipe 2 is advanced smoothly by the guide of guide rollers 9, and 10.
